Stretch is an AI-powered grocery shopping app that helps households save money by finding where their grocery list is cheapest. The app builds smart lists based on shopping habits, tracks real-time prices and availability across stores, and helps users plan every trip with perfect information. It’s a simple idea with a meaningful impact: in an era of persistent inflation and rising household costs, Stretch gives everyday shoppers the kind of intelligence that used to require a lot of time, effort, or luck to find on their own.
Challenge
When Westaway first met Stretch, the company was in its earliest form. one full-time founder, one part-time founder, and a pitch deck. The basic building blocks of a legal infrastructure existed in only the most rudimentary form. Everything needed to be properly structured and fast enough to keep pace with a founding team eager to raise capital and start building.
Solution
Westaway came in as Stretch’s outside General Counsel and got to work building the legal foundation the company needed to grow. We started with a full audit of existing documents and a governance cleanup, making sure the foundation was solid before anything else was layered on top. From there, we moved to the full stack of early-stage legal work: employment agreements, advisor arrangements, IP assignments, and investor-ready documentation. We also prepared the SAFEs that brought in the capital to take the company to the next level. We built everything with their specific situation in mind, so the structure they launched with could scale alongside them.

With a clean legal foundation in place and capital in the bank, Stretch was able to make the crucial executive hires needed to take the company to the next level. The founders could focus on building the team and the product, knowing the legal infrastructure underneath them was solid, scalable, and ready for what came next. What started as a pitch deck and a handful of rough documents became a properly structured, fully capitalized company, built to grow. Today, Stretch is live on iOS and Android, already helping everyday shoppers save money on every trip.
